Candle Care

Botanical Lane workshops give you a general overview and guide of candle making and candle care in such a short time.

Please read through and be familiar with candle care.

It's important to take candle care seriously

NEVER leave a burning candle unattended

Make sure your candle is on a heat resistant surface, out of reach of children and pets.

Ensure when burning your candle for the first time, allow the wax to melt to the very edge of your vessel.

This sets a ‘memory’, which will result in a clean and even burn each time you light your candle.

Never leave your candle burning without being present, and for no longer than 2–3 hours at a time.

Always trim your wick to 5mm before lighting your candle to ensure you receive maximum burn time and also to avoid ‘mushrooming’ of the wick, large flickering flames and black smoke.

Don’t position under ceiling fans or vents.

Do not move the candle once it’s lit.

Always place away from direct sunlight and extremely warm temperatures.

Always discontinue use once wax is approx. 1cm from the bottom of the vessel

You can re-use your candle vessel,

Wash out any leftover wax with warm water and detergent.

By following the candle care guidelines, Botanical Lane believe that you will get the best possible burn from your soy wax candle.  enjoy!

When making your own candles, ensure you only use reputable premium grade vessels, wax and fragrances that are certified for Candle making
