Pink terrarium weekend: supporting Bendigo Health Gobbé Wellness Centre

Updated: Nov 17

Join Us for a Pink-Themed Terrarium Workshop & Breast Health Awareness in Bendigo

=================================================================================

October 25 & 26 | St Anne’s Winery & Bendigo Brewing

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Botanical Lane is proud to host a special two-day awareness event in support of breast health and the Bendigo Health Foundation’s Gobbé Wellness Centre. We invite everyone—friends, families, gardeners, and craft lovers—to come together, learn, connect, and contribute.

What’s Happening

Day 1: Saturday, 25 October @ St Anne’s Winery

Join us in the gorgeous vineyard setting at St Anne’s Winery (Bendigo) for a morning filled with awareness, creativity, connection, and enjoyment. Amidst the vines and stunning views, Botanical Lane will host a pink-themed terrarium workshop. Picture a glass vessel filled with soft pastel plants and touches of pink accents—a symbolic gesture of support. Attendees can also enjoy a glass of bubbles, wine tasting, and a pizza lunch included in the ticket. It’s a relaxed, beautiful space to gather, chat, and raise awareness.

St Anne’s Winery is just a few minutes south of Bendigo. The event spaces, both indoor and outdoor, feature rustic charm, lake and vineyard views, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Day 2: Sunday, 26 October @ Bendigo Brewing

On day two, we’ll move to Bendigo Brewing, where the terrarium workshop continues in a craft-beer setting. Come for the workshop, which includes a glass of craft beer or wine, plus a delicious pizza afterwards. It’s a chance to connect with the community in a relaxed, casual atmosphere. Be hands-on, chat with others, and support a great cause.

Why This Matters & How Your Support Helps

Breast cancer affects many in our community—as patients, carers, family, and friends. While awareness, screening, and treatment are crucial, supporting the emotional, psychological, and holistic wellness of those affected is equally important.

That’s where the Gobbé Wellness Centre comes in. Located within the Bendigo hospital precinct, the Wellness Centre is a dedicated space separate from clinical care—a sanctuary—where patients, families, and carers can relax, reflect, and access complementary care and holistic support.

The Centre hosts Bendigo Health’s Cancer Wellness Program, which offers therapies like oncology massage, reflexology, yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and more. These services aim to support the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing of cancer patients and their loved ones.

Importantly, the Gobbé Wellness Centre does not receive ongoing government funding for these programs. It relies on community support, donations, and fundraising events to remain sustainable. Talk to the Bendigo Health Foundation team for more info on how you can support them.

By participating in the terrarium workshop (or even just showing up, enjoying a drink, and sharing the message), you’ll be helping raise funds that directly support the wellness centre and the vital services it offers.

What to Expect at the Workshop

  • Each participant will receive a glass terrarium vessel, substrate, small plants, and decorative accents.

  • We’ll have pink-themed elements—rose quartz, pale pink plants, hints of soft moss or pink pebbles—to honour breast cancer awareness.

  • You’ll get guidance from Botanical Lane on how to design, assemble, and care for your mini ecosystem.

  • While you build, enjoy refreshments—a glass of bubbles, wine, or, on day two, a craft beer from Bendigo Brewing—and afterwards, enjoy yummy pizzas while mingling with fellow community members.

  • All proceeds (after workshop costs) will be donated to the Bendigo Health Foundation for the Gobbé Wellness Centre. Plus, there will be some pink supplies to purchase on the day, where proceeds will also go to the Bendigo Health Foundation for the Gobbé Wellness Centre.

A Final Word

Breast health is not just a women’s issue; it’s a matter that touches entire communities. Through education, conversation, creativity, and support, we can help reduce stigma, increase awareness, and strengthen the safety net for those living with cancer.

We wholeheartedly invite you to join us. Pick up your globe, plant something symbolic, sip a brew or a glass of bubbles, and be part of a community that cares. Your presence matters. Let’s grow hope together.
